In this session, Dr Michael Di Donato shares insights from a major Monash University research project funded by Safe Work Australia, joined by Jim Gilchrist (Safe Work Australia) and Noni Byron (PHSA). Together they explore how these injuries are defined and experienced in Australia, and highlight key findings along with practical actions organisations can take to strengthen prevention, early response and support in the workplace.
