Safer shifts start with better sleep. Around 1 in 5 workers work outside traditional daytime hours. Shift work can make getting enough quality sleep difficult, increasing fatigue and affecting alertness, reaction time, decision-making and the ability to work safely.
To support the health, wellbeing and safety of shift workers, we are pleased to launch ShiftReady – an eight-part series of short, practical animated videos developed in partnership with the Sleep Health Foundation (SHF), Australia’s leading organisation dedicated to improving sleep health.
Designed primarily for shift workers in mining, emergency services, healthcare, transport, manufacturing and construction, the series also supports leaders, WHS, HR and wellbeing teams with practical guidance to help foster healthier, safer and more productive workplaces.
Each video is around 2 minutes and provides practical tips to help shift workers improve their sleep, manage fatigue and stay alert at work. The series covers shift work and sleep, managing sleep and alertness, creating a sleep-friendly workplace, and recognising sleep disorders.
The videos are designed to be flexible and can be easily integrated into an organisation through self-paced learning, toolbox talks, inductions, safety briefings or existing training and wellbeing programs.

Safer shifts start with better sleep. Sleep is critical to safety, performance and wellbeing – yet for many shift workers, quality rest is one of the biggest challenges. Industries operating around the clock face increased risks from fatigue, where reduced alertness can significantly impact decision-making, reaction time and overall safety outcomes.
We are pleased to launch ShiftReady: Safer shifts start with better sleep — an eight-part video series developed in partnership with the Sleep Health Foundation (SHF), Australia’s leading organisation dedicated to improving sleep health.
