Mental Health White Paper team
Our Mental Health White Paper, developed in collaboration with Monash University’s Healthy Working Lives Research Group and Finity, represents a transformative moment in how workplace mental health is understood and addressed across Australia.
Through meticulous coordination, strategic vision, and deep subject matter expertise, the project team played a pivotal role in bringing our paper to life.
Already, we are seeing how the white paper is prompting change and discussion on mental health in the workplace, driving innovation and investment to improve industry standards.
Recovery Pathways team
In July 2024, with funding from the Mutual Benefits Program, our Nominal Insurer (NI) business launched the Recovery Pathways pilot an innovative solution designed to address the rising incidence and expense of challenging psychological injury claims.
Today, our team of Recovery Pathways Specialists are making a positive difference in workplaces across NSW by helping workers access treatment and supporting conflict resolution with all stakeholders involved in a claim.

John Walsh Memorial Award for Outstanding Contribution by an Individual - Mark Coyne
Mark spent 10 years as EML Group’s CEO, doubling the business’s size and expanding it into new personal injury markets. He is now Executive Director, continuing to guide strategic claims management across some of the country’s largest and most complex personal injury schemes.
His leadership and influence have reshaped how schemes operate, claims teams are supported, and recovery is delivered. He collaborates with insurers, unions and government to ensure alignment and a shared purpose in a complex sector.
At EML, he’s also known for something less common in leadership: knowing everyone’s names, understanding their roles, and ensuring they know their work matters.
