Seriously injured: Jed and Cheryl’s story

Jed still remembers being stuck under the machine he was operating to dig fence posts on a construction site. Tragically, the workplace accident required amputation of part of his left leg.

With the support of his family, health practitioners and EML case manager Cheryl, Jed showed great courage and perseverance to recover and get back to life with his family.

His rehabilitation sparked a keen interest in fitness. In 2024 Jed won gold for Australia at the Paris Paralympics in rowing,  with teammate Nikki Ayers.

Watch his inspiring story of recovery.
