What is workers compensation?

Workers compensation protects both employers and workers. When someone is injured at work, it ensures that everyone involved is taken care of. In Australia, each state and territory has its own workers compensation scheme.

Whether you’re covered by a state or industry-specific scheme, we’ll guide you through the claims process and ensure you get the support you need. If you have questions or need help understanding workers compensation in your state, contact us. We’re always available to help.

If you’re a worker, workers compensation gives you access to financial and medical peace of mind so you can focus on recovery without worry. It covers things like your medical expenses, rehabilitation and lost wages if you can’t work due to a work injury.

For employers, workers compensation insurance is usually a legal business requirement. It ensures you meet your obligations while protecting your employees and business if a work-related injury occurs.

We have resources and guides to support you in your journey.

Comcare is for federal employers and workers covering the Commonwealth, ACT Government, or companies licensed under Comcare.

WorkSafe Victoria’s WorkCover scheme is for Victorian companies and employees.
