A decade of partnership, innovation and helping people get their lives back.
Since entering the Victorian workers compensation scheme in 2016, EML has grown from a new entrant in the market to one of Victoria’s leading claims management providers, trusted by employers, workers, brokers and industry partners across the state.
What began as a bold expansion into a new market has evolved into a high-performing Victorian business supporting more than 50,000 employers and employing over 560 Victorian team members. Along the way, EML has nearly doubled its market share, reaching almost 25% of the Victorian market, reflecting the confidence customers and partners continue to have.
For Rick Jones, General Manager, Victoria and one of EML’s founding Victorian employees, the milestone represents much more than a business anniversary.
When we entered Victoria in 2016, we were effectively a start-up operation. Building a new business, growing our team and establishing ourselves in a highly competitive market came with its challenges. Looking back, I'm incredibly proud of what we've achieved together. Our success has been built on the dedication of our people, the trust of our customers and the strength of the partnerships we've developed over the past decade.
Victorian workplaces across all industries have faced a range of evolving challenges, including COVID and repeated lockdowns, increasing psychosocial risks, complex injury profiles, and changing return to work expectations. Through these changes, EML has remained focused on helping employers navigate complexity while supporting positive outcomes for their people.
A key strength of EML is our commitment to building strong partnerships and continually investing in expertise. By working closely with employers, brokers, providers and partners, we have developed a deep understanding of the factors that contribute to successful recovery and sustainable return to work outcomes. This collaborative approach enables us to stay ahead of emerging trends and deliver tailored solutions that meet the needs of diverse organisations.
EML provides a range of specialist services and resources, including early intervention support, mental injury expertise, return to work guidance, mobile case management, and data-driven insights to help employers identify opportunities for improvement. These capabilities allow us to deliver a proactive and responsive claims management experience focused on achieving better outcomes for workers and employers alike.
At the heart of EML’s success are its people. Today, 73 Victorian employees are celebrating their own 10-year anniversaries with the organisation, having been part of the journey since EML first commenced operations in Victoria. Their experience, commitment and passion have helped shape the culture and service excellence that EML is known for today.
The anniversary is also an opportunity to recognise the employers, brokers, service providers and industry stakeholders who have supported EML’s growth over the past decade.
You can only achieve growth of this scale when customers and partners trust what you're doing. Our success reflects the strength of those relationships and the shared commitment we have to supporting workplaces and helping people recover after injury.
As EML reflects on ten years in Victoria, we are proud of the partnerships we have built and the impact we have made across workplaces throughout the state. With workplaces continuing to evolve and new challenges emerging, the organisation remains committed to investing in its people, capabilities and partnerships to help build healthier, safer and more resilient workplaces across the state.
