EML congratulates the Prime Minister and Federal Government on the announcement of a permanent National Commissioner to investigate cases of actual, suspected and attempted suicide in current and former ADF members and make recommendations on prevention and assistance.

We also welcome the appointment of a Veteran Family Advocate to directly engage with veterans’ families to improve the design of programs and services.

Mental illness, particularly in emergency responders, is in the top five of all injuries EML manages and we are heavily invested in prevention, mitigation, and comprehensive case management of those who are injured.
