The Pre-injury Average Weekly Earnings (PIAWE) form captures all earning components in the one place.

Changes to the way an injured worker’s PIAWE is calculated came into effect on Monday 21 October 2019 and apply to workers injured on or after that date.

Injury Management Programs

The injury management programs have been designed to provide information to assist injury management and provide general guidance in relation to employer obligations in accordance with those set by the NSW Nominal Insurer and workers compensation legislation.

The EML NSW injury management program is effective for Workers Insurance NSW claims or policies renewed prior to 31 May 2018.

Register of injuries

Even if an injury doesn’t result in a worker’s compensation claim, you as the employer need to keep a record of what happened. This is called a register of injuries. There are penalties for failing to keep a register of injuries.
