The ACT Government is changing the way that workers’ compensation for its employees is managed.

The ACT Government is now a self-insured licensee under the Safety Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (SRC Act). The ACT Government’s licence will include past workers’ compensation claims, where the date of injury is on or after 1 July 1989 (ACT Government claims).

Employers Mutual Limited (EML) has been appointed to manage workers’ compensation claims on behalf of the ACT Government.

Comcare will continue to manage claims where the date of injury is prior to 1 July 1989 (Comcare claims).
