New Game Changer Program to support Riverland Community

An exciting new initiative to develop the Riverland's new generation of leaders and help address key social issues.

The ‘Game Changer’ program, initiated and funded by EML, is being rolled out through football and netball clubs across the Riverland, with support from ‘Outside the Locker Room’, TAFE SA, SANFL and Regional Development Australia (Murraylands and Riverland).

Clubs  throughout the Riverland have been invited to participate, both through nominating potential leaders and embracing a development program that offers education and support.

The program is a 12 month program and consists of two elements, a Certificate IV in Leadership and Management and the program Outside The Locker Room.

It is envisaged the young leaders who participate in the program will be upskilled as future mentors to provide support within the community, their local clubs and direct to their peers.

The Game Changer, a community initiative supported by local sporting clubs is designed to assist with the prevention of drug use, alcohol abuse, family violence, mental health and suicide. At the same time develop young adults into becoming the next generation of community leaders.
